Our First Incubated Chicks

This week we hatched our first ever batch of chicks using a still air incubator. We tried hatching a few months back with no success and were about to give up on ever trying again. That was until we found an ad locally of a woman who sold fertile Silver Hmong eggs. We Decided to take another chance and purchased eight eggs. After purchasing the eggs, we set up our little giant incubator to the right degree and humidity allowing some time for everything to settle. After a few hours, we placed the eggs into the incubator for twenty-one days only opening the lid to turn the eggs manually and refill the water canals. Out of the eight eggs only three hatch but It had to have been one of the best experiences ever. We had the opportunity to see a gift from god take its first breathes. Now that we know how it feel to hatch My wife and I Decided to upgrade our still air for a more advanced Brinsea. Currently we have purchased eight more fertile eggs to place into the Brinsea for hatching. We will keep you all updated on the hatch rate of the new incubator and the status of the chicks.
